The Friends Gaining Hope Event was a collaborative effort between the Pi Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. and Gaines Hope of Tampa Bay, with the aim of providing support and assistance to at-risk young males placed in nightly foster care. The Pi Iota Chapter collected clothes through their Operation Closet Clean OWT clothing drive at the end of 2022, which were distributed to attendees.
Moreover, the chapter collected more clothes at the event for future partnerships later on in the year. In addition to the clothing, the chapter also provided food, haircuts, and music for roughly 75 people in attendance. The funds for these provisions were raised through the chapter's Social Action Committee HundredX fundraising campaign. The event was successful in bringing hope and positivity to those in need in the community and demonstrated the fraternity's commitment to serving the community through various initiatives.
